Three from Women's Basketball earn All-CL honors

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University women's basketball team saw three student-athletes earn Crossroads League all-league honors for the 2024-25 season, as the conference announced its postseason awards Wednesday.


Alana Nelson was selected to the First Team All-Crossroads League while Megan Zeitz and Sydney Aunins received Honorable Mentions honors. Zeitz was also named a member of the All-Freshman Team.


Nelson, now a three-time All-Crossroads League First Team selection, led Spring Arbor in scoring for the third consecutive year averaging a career-high 21.7 points per game, which ranks first in the conference. The senior forward also led the team with 10.5 rebounds per game – the second-best mark in the league. She has recorded 16 double-doubles with five 30-point performances, including a 40-point effort against Midway University on Nov. 9.


Nelson has scored 651 points this season, giving her 1,767 career points in her three years at Spring Arbor – the fourth-most in program history.


Zeitz had an instant impact in her rookie season. The freshman from Dansville, Michigan started all 30 games and averaged 11.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and a team-best 2.7 assists per game. She registered three 20-point games, including a 21 in the Crossroads League Tournament Quarterfinal victory over Huntington.


Aunins claimed her first all-league honors after a spectacular senior campaign. The Milan, Michigan native started all 30 games and posted career-highs in nearly every statistical category. She averaged 8.3 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.
